12. VELVET IS THE NEW BLACK

Let's bring the seventies back in our interior and not only in our closet. Velvet is still going strong in 2017 in many designer and brand collections, but also at home we can add a little touch.

At first you might be thinking about your granny's couch, the days spended in there during family reunions or tea times and the dull colors the furniture had. Forget all of that 'cause the new velvet shades are better than ever and will stay elegant forever. Blush pink, raspberry red, navy blue, olive green, yellow,... Name a bright color and it's possible. Play with pastels or 'ton sur ton' cushions to decorate the couch, or if you don't like a large couch in that fabric, you can also go for a nice coffee table or foot bank. It's anyhow the perfect way to give a minimalistic interior a nice eye catcher. And for the daredevils: play with your walls as well and add some color.
